12 Months. How did they pass so quickly? Avery is such a fun baby so full of life. She isn't afraid to show her personality, as you can see from most of the pictures above.
Avery started to really get good at walking the week of her birthday. Now, a few weeks later she is practically running everywhere. She loves to chase us around the house, and loves to be chased even more! I find it so adorable when I ask her to find one of her toys and she goes looking all around for it. She is so smart and remembers where she puts her things. Sometimes, she will even find the remote control for me when I can't find it! When I put the boots she has on in the pictures, she was just strutting around the house. Such a girly girl.
She is so brave and is starting to climb up on furniture. Scares the heck out of us! It is fun to see her little brain put to work though. "Let's see, how can I get up onto this chair without being caught?"
Oh, and I have to report of SUCH a big milestone for our girl....she is sleeping through the night.
Almost.
I say almost because about once a week she still wakes up and I bring her into bed with me for about an hour. Any longer and I will have bruises all over my body from her wailing body limbs.
One of her favorite things in the world is her doll "Suzie". She is holding her in the bottom picture. This doll holds a little special place in my heart and I am so happy that she loves her doll so much. I bought Suzie at a garage sale on Oct. 1st 2011. A little girl saw my huge belly and asked if I wanted to buy her very first doll for my baby for $0.25. I said, of course, my baby girl will love it! And, one garage sale later my water broke. So, that little girl was right. My baby does loves her first doll that she so thoughtfully let me buy. And, we will keep it forever!
We had Avery's 1st swimming lessons last night. It was really "swimming" but rather just getting her used to being in the water.
We sang a few songs, tried to float on our back, sat on a "noodle" and walked around the pool. She even got to go down a little slide. We practiced blowing bubbles and grabbing objects under the water. Avery really enjoyed it! She loved
It was really fun to see how much she loved being in the water. We took the class with our friends Kaitlyn and Addison. The girls have a lot of fun together and it was nice to have a friend in the water with us.
We have 3 more lessons to go, and hopefully next time we will go under water. I think Avery will be ready next time. She had her face go halfway under last night and it didn't seem to faze her much.
She is growing up so fast.
Such a wonderful day full of memories and people we love.
Thank you for everyone that came to support our 1 year old baby. She is truly loved by so many people and we are so blessed to have you all in our lives.
We wish everyone could have been there to celebrate, but you were in our thoughts and we ate a piece of cake for ya!
xoxo
A couple weeks ago, when it was still warm outside we wanted to wash Kris' car. Avery was just DYING having to stay on the blanket in the grass so she just walked right on over to help us.
Well, I don't know if I would call it "helping" because all she wanted to do was eat the bubbles. She doesn't take to the words "NO BUBBLES" very well.
She is getting to be so independent and starting copy everything we do. It's so crazy to watch her learn and grow every day!
Now, if only I can get her to do the dishes next!

Our baby girl is 1 year old today!
It seems like yesterday she was born, yet so long ago. We have gone through a lot this year and have grown so much! Being a parent is so amazing. It's really hard to explain! Avery is such a good baby and makes us laugh every day. She is so much fun to be around!
We love you baby girl, Avery. You have brightend our world more than you will ever know. You are the reason for everything we do.
